Toscana Restaurant 

"I Ghibellini" is a restaurant lying only a short way away from Santa Croce and Piazza della Signoria in the historical centre of Florence. One of its main features is the fact that it focuses on preserving the ancient Florentine and Tuscan culinary traditions and has been family-owned by the Bianchi family for over 40 years. The interior is divided into several rooms, some of them somewhat intimate, others more suitable for hosting groups. In the summer clients can eat outdoors in a pretty little square. Situated inside the ancient fourteenth century palace of Palazzo Corbezzo and overlooking the Tower of Donati where Gemma Donati, Dante’s wife, once lived, the restaurant’s name recalls the glorious history and protagonists of Florence. However Florence also stars in the kitchen, where some of the outstanding platters on the menu include a wooden board arranged with various dressed meats, tomato bread soup, ribollita (vegetable bread soup), codfish, Florentine ravioli with sauce, tripe and of course Florentine T-bone steaks. The wide range of dishes to choose from includes pizzas and recipes from other parts of Italy.
Last, but not least, comes the winery, renowned for its wide selection of excellent labels, which are also served by the glass.
